QK-A027 SeaTalk through Wifi

Post by Nacho »

Hello:

I have just to install the A027 in my boat: I connected it to the AIS Antenna and to the Raymarine system. I did not connect to GPS, NMEA, USB.
I tried to display the data in the OpenCpn on a windows 7 PC through wifi. I see perfectly the AIS targets and the program runs ok, but I can not see any Seatalk data.
Are the received Seatalk data sent out through wifi?

Thank you and Regards

No, you will not see any Seatalk messages. In fact, you should all the related data with NMEA 0183 format. All Seatalk data has been converted into NMEA 0183 messages and then send out through WiFi.

Then, the data of The Raymarine instruments (Wind speed, depth, etc) can be show in the OpenCpn through the wifi connection?

The OpenCpn debug windows of the NMEA inputs shows sentences like:

$IIMWN,198.0.R,,NA,......
$IIWN,R7,7,M*10......
$STALK,60,OC,01,00,00,00,.....
$STALK,90,00,03*67.....
$STALK,9C,01,10,FE*38
$STALK,65,00,00........

But I can not display any Seatalk instrument in the OpenCpn.

Thank you for the support.

Yes, this is the converted Seatalk messages. So you need work on OpenCPN side to see how to display these messages.
If you still have problem with it please contact us to get the latest version firmware(that fix the inter-operation issue with some old Raymarine devices)
