QK-A026/024 receiver

I have recently purchased the above receiver, not yet fitted. I hope to be using it in Wifi mode using a galaxy tablet. The boat I will hope to use it on is all steel,with a max height of 9' above water level. My question is, with such little height can I raise the unit in an ip68 box to achieve a better horizon? This I admit,will expose the box to the elements but should keep the unit free from any moisture, and, if uv resistant any effects of the sun. Am I being over optimistic, or should I use something else? Thank's.

You don't need put the box outside the cabinet. Use a long cable to extend the antenna to be higher will be fine. QK-A024/26 was designed for indoor application.
