hi there I am Wondering if I can somehow connect my newly acquired AO21 directly inline from antenna to my garmin gps map 451 plotter which will produce AIS if a receiver is connected

Unfortunately, you canot do that way. A021 need a proper driver to work. We only suggest customer select this device for Widnows/iOS computers. We know some customers have get it work with other devices like Android tablet/ Arduino platform, but if you don't have enough IT skills don't try that. For your case, you need QK-A024 or QK-A026 which have standard NMEA interface. You maybe also need Garmin bridge.
