I had some time to do some testing yesterday. The LED is a solid "green" and the voltage on the Seatalk1 cable when not attached to anything is 10V (or so) and not varying (grounded to the shield). When the QK-A027 is powered up I read roughly the same voltage on both the Red (positive) and the Seatalk (yellow) with a slightly lower voltage on the Seatalk lead. Again, the voltage is steady. The "steady green" LED from troubleshooting guide says "Healthy Seatalk-NG network, Seatalk1 not connected or fault".
Does the E22158 need to do any sort of handshake with a Seatalk1 device to recognize it should send data over that network? The QK-A027 is the only device on the Seatalk1 network.
A027 and Raymarine E22158 Update
Re: A027 and Raymarine E22158 Update
Hi yeahmag, Thanks for yourinformation. Can I ask how did you connect Raymarine E22158 with A027? More information will be helpful. Thank you.
Re: A027 and Raymarine E22158 Update
It comes with a conversion cable. I cut the Seatalk1 end off to give me bare wires. Raymarine finally got back to me and said if I'm not seeing the voltage on the Seatalk1 wire varying (8-12V) that the converter is likely defective. I'm seeing a solid 10V when not connected to that QK-A027 and roughly 12V when connected. At no time am I seeing the voltage vary. I'm working on a return and replacement and I'll be sure to check that I'm seeing "bouncing" voltage on the Seatalk1 wire and that the LED is displaying "normal" operation before connecting to the QK-A027.
Re: A027 and Raymarine E22158 Update
UPDATE
After a second E22158 convertor was installed, the same behaviour exists. Apparently the converter doesn't see anything on the network. Can someone confirm whether the A027 should be "seen" on the network? It's the only device on the ST1 network. If not, I'll be forced to return the A027.
Thanks
